We the National Association For Legal Gun Defense LLC, known as the Self Defense Fund (SDF) have a firm commitment to safeguarding the privacy of our members. This statement page will inform you about our information gathering and dissemination practices for the SDF website. Other sites associated to or linked to SDF website or any other third parties are governed by a separate privacy statement.
SDF protects information both online and off-line. The transmission of information, including any payment information, is encrypted and protected using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Stored customer information is kept in a secure environment where access is restricted to employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example billing administration or the development team). Employees are required to use password-protected screen-savers and keep their computers up-to-date.
CHILDREN’S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT NOTICE
Our sites and services are intended for general audiences and are not targeted to persons under the age of 18. If you are under 18, please do not use our website. SDF does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen or utilize plug-ins or ad networks that collect personal information through child-directed third-party websites or online services. If the Company learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13, the Company will take steps to promptly delete the information. Should this policy change, the Company would comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, which requires us to notify and obtain consent from a parent or guardian before we collect, use and disclose the personal information of children who are under 13 years of age. The Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

SDF only uses your personal information to conduct business with you. Your personally identifiable information will not be rented, sold or shared with any third party, except as described in this Privacy Statement or as otherwise agreed by you. SDF may disclose information it has collected from any member of SDF and/or document that any member has made available to SDF when SDF believes in good faith that the law or legal process requires it, or when it is necessary to do so to protect the rights or property of SDF and/or others.
Personal information is collected from users only after obtaining consent. Consent is obtained when users disclose information when subscribing to services, using the SDF website, or requesting further information. Personally identifiable information is not collected when a user browses the SDF website.
SDF may contact users about offers and opportunities from the Company, to provide educational and informational materials, to conduct surveys, and gather feedback. This privacy statement only extends to information controlled by the Company. This privacy statement expressly excludes information not controlled by the Company.
We may change this Privacy Policy without notice from time to time. Please visit this page for updates and changes. Regardless of later changes or updates, SDF will not use your information in a new way without first providing you with an opportunity to opt-out.

Information We Collect and How We Use It
Information You Explicitly Provide
In order to establish your membership, you will be asked to provide certain personally identifiable information to us, such as your name, mailing and email address, phone number, mobile phone number, emergency contact, and financial payment information. We will use that information to process your membership and to process and communicate with you concerning any questions you may submit. In any event, we will not share your personally identifiable information with any other third parties without giving you the opportunity to opt-out, except as expressly described in the “Third Party Service Providers” section of this privacy statement.
Information We Automatically Collect
Cookies and Invisible Gifs (also known as “Clear Gifs,” “Web Bugs” and “Tracker Gifs”)
Generally speaking, we use cookies and invisible gifs to track users of the website. For example, when you visit our site, we assign you a unique User ID and store it on your computer in the form of a cookie (unless your browser’s cookie support has been disabled). Through the use of cookies, User IDs, and invisible gifs, we are able to optimize the performance and functionality of our site, and to personalize our site for you and present you with content and offers specific to your interests.
The SDF website use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”), to evaluate the use of the Company site. Google Analytics places a third-party cookie on your computer that is then used to compile reports of visitor traffic and internet usage. Google analytics does not have a database of individual profiles for each visitor and only collects aggregate data.
Disabling Cookies

IP Address
We analyze IP addresses in the aggregate for system administration purposes and to gather broad demographic information. We do not link IP addresses to your computer’s User ID or financial payment information.
Information Sharing
If, when you respond to an email addresses on the SDF website, you agree to let SDF return you email and/or send promotional information to you. To prevent SDF from sending promotional material communications, please refer to the below section Choices/Opt-Out.
Third Party Service Providers
SDF may share your personally identifiable information with those companies that assist us in providing membership to you. Following is an example of our use of third party service providers: When you enter your financial payment information on the member application it is encrypted and goes directly to authorize.net payment processing center to process your purchase of a membership. Authorize.net is an encrypted payment cred or debit card processing center and SDF does not store, retain, or keep any credit or debit card information in or on our computer servers.
Choice/Opt-Out
The SDF website provides you with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving the Self Defense Fund Perspective Magazine and other promotional communications from SDF. To discontinue your receipt of such and communications please send an Opt-Out email to selfdefensefund@gmail.com
Security
To the best of our ability the website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Except as otherwise stated in this privacy statement, access to that data is limited to authorized SDF staff members and is further restricted by password protection mechanisms.

Aggregate information
This is information that may be collected by the website but is not “personally identifiable” to you. Aggregate information includes demographic data, domain names, and website traffic and none of these fields are linked to a user’s personal information.
Browser
A Browser is also called a Web Browser. This is software that enables you to search and or navigate through websites or “browse” parts of the Internet, especially the World Wide Web.

Encryption
The SDF website data is scrambled into a private code for secure transmission.
Invisible Gif
An invisible gif is a simple signal sent from certain emails or web pages to the sponsor of the emails or web pages, allowing the sponsor to keep track of the number of users who access the emails and web pages.
Opt-in
By submitting a membership application you are giving SDF the ability to collect your personally identifiable information such as name, address, contact etc. SDF is stating that it will not gather or track personally identifiable information about you unless you knowingly provide such information and consent to such activities.
Password
SDF does not issue or know your password at any time. If you cannot remember the password you entered on your application then you can change or reset it at any time by following the instructions on the member log-in page.
Personally identifiable information
SDF only keeps the information you entered on the application such as your name, postal address, or e-mail address, phone number. We do not retain, store, or keep credit or debit card information. A member can assess their account payment information only by username and password specific to the member.
Changes to Website Terms of Use and/or the Privacy policy
SDF reserves the right, from time to time, with or without notice to you, to change its Website Terms of Use, including this Privacy Policy, in our sole and absolute discretion. It is your sole responsibility to check the website from time to time to view any such changes. You will be deemed to have accepted such changes by continuing to use the website. The most current version can be reviewed by visiting our website and clicking on “Website Terms of Use or Privacy Policy located at the bottom of the pages of the website.

Independent SDF representatives
Some people who represent SDF are independent contractors, and your independent representative may gather and retain customer information and/or financial information about you. The use and protection of this information by your independent representative is your independent salespersons responsibility and not the responsibility of SDF or its affiliated companies.
